Meeting room hire in Thirsk
A private room on Thirsk market square with its own entrance, its own toilet, a breakout room next door and an interactive whiteboard on the wall. Hire it by the morning, the afternoon or the day.
Up to 20 people, free WiFi, layout set however you want it, and a kitchen underneath that can feed the room at one o'clock.

Prices
Three slots, one price each
Room hire, not per head. Nobody counts your delegates and nobody adds a service charge. Food and drink are quoted separately once we know what you want.
| Slot | Times | Length | Suits | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Morning | 8:30am to 11:30am | 3 hours | Board meetings, interviews, a training session that finishes at lunch | Ask us |
| Afternoon | 12pm to 4pm | 4 hours | Client workshops, committee meetings, appraisals | Ask us |
| Full day | 8:30am to 4pm | 7.5 hours | Away days, training courses, interview panels working through a shortlist | Ask us |
Ring us for a price. What it costs depends on what you need the room for and what food goes with it. On Wednesdays and Thursdays the same room runs as free co-working, so tell us early if you want it to yourself on one of those days.
What you get
Two rooms, a whiteboard and nobody walking through
The main room takes the meeting. The breakout room takes the candidate waiting to be interviewed and the call that could not be moved. Having both is what makes a long day workable.
The interactive whiteboard is fitted in the main room. WiFi is free. The room has its own entrance off the street and its own toilet, so an 8:30 start does not depend on the cafe being open yet.
Layouts we set
- Boardroom, one table with everyone round it
- Rows facing the whiteboard, for training
- Cabaret, small tables for group work
- U-shape, for a facilitated session
- Main room and breakout room split, for interviews and panels
- Cleared, with chairs round the edge
How many people a given layout seats depends on the shape, so tell us the format and the numbers together and we will say straight away whether it works.
What it is used for
Meetings, training, interviews, away days
Board and committee meetings
One long table, papers spread out, tea topped up at the table. Parish councils, charity trustees and partnership meetings all use rooms like this.
Training and workshops
The interactive whiteboard is in the main room, the chairs go into rows or cabaret groups, and lunch comes up the stairs to you.
Interviews
Two rooms is the reason this works for a panel. Candidates wait in the breakout room and the panel sits in the main room, so the two only meet when you call them through.
Away days and planning days
Book the room for a full day and a small team can get out of the office, have a proper conversation and be back on the A19 by half four.
Client meetings on neutral ground
Solicitors, accountants, estate agents and financial advisers who need somewhere private in town with a door that shuts.
Appraisals and one-to-ones
A half day and a door that shuts, for the conversations that need to happen out of earshot of the rest of the team.
Why here
A market square beats a motorway junction
The usual option for a day out of the office in this part of Yorkshire is a hotel by a junction. It works. It also costs a day delegate rate per head, puts you in a windowless room off a corridor, and gives you a sandwich that somebody else made yesterday.
Here the room costs 65 for a whole day no matter how many of you turn up, the food is made in the kitchen underneath you, and when the session stalls people can walk out into a market square rather than a car park. Thirsk is a couple of minutes off the A19 and about ten from the A1(M), so the drive is usually no longer.
Parking
- Market Place, first hour free, then pay and display. on our doorstep.
- Marage Road, pay and display. about 3 minutes.
- Millgate, pay and display. about 4 minutes.
For people coming by train
- York, 16 to 23 min, roughly hourly.
- Northallerton, About 10 min, roughly hourly.
- Leeds, About 45 min, roughly hourly.
Thirsk station is a mile and a half west of the square, so book a taxi or allow half an hour on foot. More on trains, buses and parking.

Questions people ask
Meeting room hire, answered
- How much is meeting room hire in Thirsk?
- Ring us for a price. What it costs depends on what you need the room for and what food goes with it. The slots are a morning (8:30am to 11:30am), an afternoon (12pm to 4pm) or a full day (8:30am to 4pm), whatever the number of people, with catering quoted alongside.
- How many people does the meeting room hold?
- Up to 20 across the main room and the breakout room. How many a particular layout takes depends on the shape you want, so tell us the format and we will tell you if it works.
- Is there a whiteboard or a projector?
- There is an interactive whiteboard in the main room. If you need anything else for presenting, ask us before you book so we can tell you what we have.
- Can we get lunch for the group?
- Yes. Everything is made in the cafe kitchen underneath the room: breakfast on arrival, sandwiches and soup, buffets, cake, and afternoon tea if you want to finish well. Send numbers and dietary needs when you book.
- Is the room private?
- Completely. It has its own entrance from the street and its own toilet, so your meeting comes in off the street and stays put, and the cafe traffic stays downstairs.
- Can you set the room out how we want it?
- Yes. Boardroom, rows, cabaret, U-shape or split across the two rooms. Say which when you book and it will be ready before you arrive.
- Is there parking?
- The Market Place is on the doorstep with the first hour free, and Marage Road and Millgate are three or four minutes away, both pay and display. Monday and Saturday are market days, so the square fills early.
- How do I book the meeting room?
- Ring 01845 523869 with your date and we will check it while you are on the phone. You can also email rosa@teatimeyorkshire.co.uk or use the contact form.
- Can we hire the room in the evening or at a weekend?
- The slots we publish sit inside cafe hours. Ask us if you need something outside them and we will tell you what is possible rather than promise it on a web page.
- Is the meeting room accessible?
- The room is upstairs and step-free access is not confirmed, so we will not claim it. Ring 01845 523869 before you book if anyone attending needs step-free access and we will describe the way in honestly.
Back to the room and what else it does, or see free co-working and parties and wakes.
