Our menu

The menu, as it is today

Cooked to order in the kitchen behind the room. The bacon is dry cured four miles away in Dalton, the bread comes from Baltzersen's in Harrogate, the ice cream from Brymor at Jervaulx and the tea from True Tea Co., who nobody else in Thirsk pours.

Brunch 9:00 til 12:30, lunch 11:30 til 15:30, scones and cakes all day.

Bread from Baltzersen's, bacon from Dalton

The toast is Baltzersen's, the Harrogate bakery, in white potato loaf, multigrain bloomer or sourdough. The bacon is dry cured in Dalton, four miles up the road, and the black pudding is Doreen's. We bake the scones and the cakes here; we do not bake the bread, and we would rather say so than let you assume.

Brymor, from the Jervaulx herd

The ice cream is Brymor, made at High Jervaulx Farm near Masham from their own Guernsey herd, about half an hour west of us. It is why the shakes taste like dairy rather than powder.
