Apple picking and Apple Week at Ampleforth

Pick your own apples in the Ampleforth Abbey orchard on two Saturdays, then a free half-term week of orchard games, trails, tasting and cider-mill demonstrations

The Ampleforth orchard has more than 60 apple varieties, and in October the trees are full. On the two Saturdays you can pick your own between 11am and 3pm.

Over half term the abbey runs Apple Week, from 10am to 3pm each day: Apple Olympics on the lawn, an orchard trail for children, crafts, apple tasting and demonstrations of the cider mill. It is free to come along. Ampleforth is about twenty-five minutes from Thirsk.
