A Dickens of a Christmas at Castle Howard
Castle Howard's Christmas, A Dickens of a Christmas, runs from 12 November to 3 January, with Father Christmas in the Castle from 21 November to Christmas Eve
Castle Howard, near Malton, dresses the house for A Dickens of a Christmas from Thursday 12 November to Sunday 3 January. The rooms take their scenes from Charles Dickens's novels, with projections, soundscapes and characters such as Ebenezer Scrooge to meet on the way round.
Father Christmas in the Castle runs from Saturday 21 November to Christmas Eve: a short show with Father Christmas and WonderPhil, then a moment with Father Christmas for each family, and a gift for every child with a ticket. Castle Howard notes that this show is not wheelchair accessible; the Santa's Grotto in the Jellycat Shop, from 28 November to Christmas Eve, is fully accessible.
Every Christmas ticket has to be booked ahead, from 24 plus a booking fee. Castle Howard is about thirty-five minutes from Thirsk.
