Christmas at Fountains Abbey
The National Trust's Christmas at Fountains, from a trail and A Christmas Carol at Fountains Hall to carols round the tree and an artisan Christmas market
The National Trust runs Christmas at Fountains from Saturday 28 November to Sunday 3 January. There is a Christmas trail, and Bah, Humbug!, a telling of A Christmas Carol at Fountains Hall, on selected dates through the season. Music fills the abbey on afternoons until 27 December, and there are carols around the Christmas tree on mornings from 6 to 20 December.
Carols by Candlelight runs on afternoons from 6 to 13 December, with tickets going on sale on Friday 6 November. Little Bird Made's artisan Christmas market is on Sunday 29 November, 10am to 3pm; the Saturday market has been cancelled. Fountains is about thirty-five minutes' drive from Thirsk.
