Bedale Town Council runs the town's Christmas weekend on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November. The Christmas lights are switched on at 4.30pm on the Sunday.
The council's April minutes set out the plan for the weekend: craft fairs and a Santa's grotto on both days, family activities on the Saturday, and an outdoor Christmas market on the Sunday, with Father Christmas arriving after the switch-on. Planning was still going on with the town's businesses at that point, so check the town's Christmas page nearer the time for the full programme.
The same weekend, Thorp Perrow Arboretum just outside Bedale opens its Christmas trail and Santa's grotto.
