Ripon Cathedral has a busy October. The Thursday lunchtime concerts are short and easy to fit into a day in Ripon. The St Cecilia Orchestra bring Gershwin and Rachmaninov on the Saturday night, with under 18s free.
The half-term weekend starts with a family silent disco on the Friday, where everyone dances to their own headphones, and a candlelit evening of Adele songs on the Saturday. Ripon is under half an hour from Thirsk by the A61.
