Luminescence, the winter light trail at Swinton
A mile-long light trail through the woodland and lakeside gardens of Swinton Park near Masham, on selected evenings from 31 October to 21 February
The Swinton Estate's light trail is back this winter, from Saturday 31 October 2026 to Sunday 21 February 2027. It runs through the woodland and lakeside gardens of Swinton Park, just outside Masham.
The trail opens on Saturdays and Sundays in November, January and February, from Friday to Sunday in December, and every day in the school holidays. Start times follow sunset, so the booking page has the slots for each night.
The route is just over a mile and takes up to an hour and a half. Warm drinks and seasonal food are sold along the way, card only. Dress for the weather, wear sensible shoes and bring a torch. Dogs on leads are welcome and parking is free.
Tickets are 17 for adults and 7.50 for children off-peak, 19 and 11 at peak times, and free for under-5s. The estate does not say which nights count as peak.
