The market fills the square outside our windows every Monday and Saturday, and has done since the thirteenth century

Stalls set up on the cobbles from early and run through the middle of the day. Produce, plants, hardware, fabric, and whatever else has turned up that week.
Monday is the quieter of the two and easier if you want to move about. Saturday is fuller, louder and better, and it is the one to come for if you only get one.
We open at 8:30 on Saturdays rather than 9, because market traders need feeding before anybody else arrives.
